Update on Adur Park

Travellers occupying Adur Park

The Council is aware of 10 caravans entering Adur Park yesterday at 10:30am.
As landowners, Westham Parish Council have requested East Sussex County Council to evict the travellers immediately.
ESCC have sent their traveller liaison officer who has visited the site with Sussex Police and requested they leave immediately.
Sussex police have the appropriate powers to remove the travellers but do require a collection of evidence to speed up the process.
This evidence can be used to evict via court order which can take up to 2-3 days and is based on evidence of anti-social behaviour.
As we all want to see the park return to normal as soon as possible a request for assistance in these immediate days please document any anti social behaviour, damage, destruction or putting the community at risk.
